JOSHUA BURNSIDE

Spring 2025 'Teeth Of Time' Promotional Tour

Thursday 13th March 2025

Joshua Burnside is an experimental folk songwriter, singer and producer. He takes influence from alternative electronica and Irish folk, chopping and blending them with a mixture of found sounds, world music and unorthodox production methods. His third album, Teeth Of Time, sits comfortably and confrontationally between the alt-folk realms of Bon Iver and Sufjan Stevens while retaining the indie singer-songwriter and traditional folk elements of Josh's signature songwriting.

“Joshua Burnside is the best songwriter in Ireland right now, and probably beyond” – Phil Taggart, Sirius XM

Feast of Fiddles

Spring Tour 2025

Wednesday 9th April 2025

2025 and Feast of Fiddles set out on their Spring Tour once again – their 30th. Two storming performances at the New Forest Folk Festival and Fairport’s Cropredy Convention in 2024 promoted what has become their 8th recording and another live offering at that. Born in Nettlebed on Valentine’s Day 1994 as a one-off special concert, Feast of Fiddles is a band of friends that puts on a show of huge dynamic range performed with passion, joy and a liberal dose of fun. This year fiddlers Garry Blakeley (Band of Two), Ian Cutler (Bully Wee), Marion Fleetwood (Trad Arr, Sandy Denny Project), Tom Leary (Joe Brown), Brian McNeill (Battlefield Band) and Simon Swarbrick (Merry Hell) bring a large range of fiddle playing styles to the rock back-line – all held together by legendary drummer Dave Mattacks. It’s not unheard of for past alumni to make guest appearances along the way so keep an eye open for tour news on the website. This is a live music entertainment like no other on the circuit which is guaranteed to be enjoyed by even the most doubting of friends dragged along!

Jerron Paxton

Friday 9th May 2025

Growing up in Los Angeles, Jerron Paxton would sit with an ear by the radio, eagerly absorbing the nuances and history of Black American traditional music that connect him to his ancestral roots in the South. A songwriter, inheritor of tradition, and a walking, talking jukebox, Paxton approaches his craft with equal part wit and reverence, with a knack for leg-pulling and cracking wise. Things Done Changed is an album of original songs that sound beamed in from nearly a century ago, when jazz and blues were performed as a means of both personal and cultural survival. Lick by lick, Paxton builds a bridge between generations gone and generations to come, singing the heartaches and joys of the past and present.

FLOOK

Celebrating 30 Years in 2025!

Friday 23rd May 2025

What began in 1995 as a ground-breaking union of musicians and instruments, has continued as a unique musical offering through one live album, four studio albums and countless outstanding performances. A new recording is due for release in early 2025. After 30 years Flook show no sign of letting-up in their brilliance, their dynamism, or their inventive flair.

The band early on evolved an inimitable trademark sound and hold fast to their rightful reputation as exceptional musical innovators; the whistles and flutes of Brian Finnegan and Sarah Allen, the guitar of Ed Boyd and the bodhran of John Joe Kelly weaving and spinning tunes rooted in tradition over precise acoustic grooves, with a rare blend of fiery technical brilliance, delicate ensemble interaction and a bold, adventurous musical imagination.

Cynefin

Shimli Album Tour

Friday 28th February 2025

Shimli is the follow up to 2020's Dilyn Afon by Welsh folk singer, researcher, grain grower and cultural historian Owen Shiers, aka 'Cynefin'. Continuing in the vein of rooting his music firmly in the customs and cultural vernacular of Ceredigion, the album takes its title from the now obsolete West Walian practice of all night musical and poetic vigils which used to take place in mills and workshops. Drawing inspiration from folk song, the beirdd gwlad (folk poet) tradition – as well as living oral history and story, the album explores the intersection between music, poetry, food and the natural world. A personal dispatch from the struggle to maintain a language, culture and way of life, the album is a musical petition – a stake in the ground for the diverse and the disappearing in our age of homogenisation and mass amnesia.

Rich(ard) Dawson

Thursday 1st May 2025

Rich(ard) Dawson returns with news of his latest record End of the Middle. While Dawson is no stranger to big musical ideas, be it opening his 2022 album The Ruby Cord with a world-building 41-minute track or writing epic songs from the perspective of a seed in collaboration with the Finnish experimental rock band Circle, here Dawson dials everything down. “Everything is held back and soft.” By stripping things to a bare bones essence, what is revealed is a remarkably poised, oddly elegant and beautiful collection of songs - unquestionably some of Dawson’s finest work to date.

KING CREOSOTE

Any Storm in a Teacup Tour

Saturday 7th June 2025

King Creosote is the name used by acclaimed Scottish singer/songwriter Kenny Anderson, whose vast catalog of work encompasses folk, indie rock, ambient, and various forms of experimental pop. Hailing from the seaside council of Fife, Anderson was the linchpin of a burgeoning local scene that also included artists like James Yorkston and KT Tunstall, who joined him as part of the Fence Records collective. Working under the King Creosote name since the late '90s, Anderson established himself as a prolific D.I.Y. artist, hybridizing his unique take on indie folk and rock on numerous CD-R releases before finding a more official outlet with Domino Records. Mid-2000s albums like KC Rules OK and Bombshell earned him a wider audience ahead of 2011's Diamond Mine, his Mercury Prize-nominated collaboration with Jon Hopkins. In between smaller, more experimental releases, were significant works like his 2014 documentary soundtrack From Scotland with Love and 2016's Astronaut Meets Appleman. After a lengthy gap, King Creosote returned in 2023 with the sprawling and eclectic I DES.
